Following the series’ conclusion, Strictly 2025’s winner George Clarke wrote a heartfelt statement in tribute to his “new girl” professional dance partner Alexis Warr.

The YouTuber claims that the 2025 Strictly Come Dancing glitterball helped him “discover some self-belief,” despite the fact that he may not have won. Karen Carney and Carlos Gu were the only ones who could have made it to Saturday night’s final three, but the content creator and his professional partner Alexis Warr couldn’t make it.

In a lengthy statement released today (Sunday, December 21) George said the end of the series was “a lot to process”, and added, “The journey is done and that’s hard to come to terms with.” He also described the last few months as “a hell of an experience”, before paying tribute to Alexis, one of the BBC show’s newest professional recruits.

He wrote, “Your pro is 99% of your process, and I’ve had the best and most formative four months of my life, which shows how impactful she has been.” She encouraged me to develop a sense of self, which has really helped shape me both as a dancer and as a person.

She was a fantastic dancer and choreographer, as I believe it was obvious at first, but something about her is that she is also a wonderful person.

His new “Strictly family” member, Claudia Winkelman, added four red heart emojis to his post, and judge Craig Revel Horwood said, “Well done George,” which received a lot of love from his post. Georgey! was also added by his partner Alexis, who is 25. Thank you so much! If you ever need a dance partner, please let me know. I’ll be there.

The 25-year-old Alexis, who was born in Utah and is now 25 years their junior, put in a show in the Saturday night finale, which included Tess Daly and Claudia. They also reprised their Paso Doble from Ruelle, which earned them 30 points in Week 2.

Additionally, they performed a Viennese Waltz by Queen and a show dance by The Killers to Human. Finalists Karen and Carlos, Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, tied with them with 39 votes, and they finished one point ahead of them in the other three dances.

George continued, “I ended the night doing three wildly different dances that I would have had no chance to do at the start of the competition.” I personally genuinely enjoyed performing them, which I never anticipated would happen, and not only was there improvement.

He described the “whole world of Strictly” as “uplifting and positive”, and said it was a “breath of fresh air” in his life.

He continued, “I’ve learned a lot about dancing, I’ve learned a lot about myself, and it’s something I’ll never forget.” Everyone has had their own personal journeys, many of which would have been honorable victories, but I’m happy to report that a particularly impressive woman both on and off the dance floor had the honor of winning.

My body will remain in service until 2026, though I hope I can continue dancing somewhat because I don’t feel like I’m done.

A particularly heartfelt one from dancer Amy Dowden, who wrote, “What a kind, genuine lovely soul! ” was another comment from the series’ star. You have always amazed me. Thank you for supporting our @alexis_warr in her first year and contributing so much to the show. Both of them should be so proud of it! Xxxxx “
