Since 2014, George and Amal Clooney have been married, and they could move to Provence, France, in 2021.

Since becoming French citizens, George and Amal Clooney have confirmed their intention to leave the United States. They are just one of the growing number of celebrities leaving the country.

Since 2014, George, 64, and Amal, 47, have been married and have plans to relocate to Provence, France. The couple and their eight-year-old twins Alexander and Ella, who are both now living in France, were formally citizens shortly after the holiday season.

The claims have been published by a number of French outlets. In the past, George and his wife have expressed their love for France and their decision to relocate there because they believed it would be a better place for their children to grow up.

The actor responded to Esquire, “Yeah, we’re very lucky. Growing up on a farm, a significant portion of my life, and as a child I detested the idea. But now, they are like, “They’re not on their iPads, I suppose.

They live much more peacefully. In light of Hollywood culture, I was concerned about raising our children in LA. They would never be able to get a fair shake of life, in my opinion.

“France, they kind of don’t give a damn about fame. They shouldn’t be worried about paparazzi roaming the neighborhood. I object to them being compared to the famous children of others.

George added that he was attempting to learn French before moving. The couple reportedly reside close to Brignoles, France, but they also own properties in Los Angeles, South Oxfordshire, England, Lake Como, Italy, and Los Cabos, Mexico.

In recent years, several other American celebrities have made the decision to relocate abroad. In November of this year, Portia de Rossi, the actress who was previously a host of the chat show Ellen DeGeneres, relocated to the Cotswolds.

Rosie O’Donnell, her son, and Lily Collins made the move to Copenhagen in 2023, respectively.

After residing in the US, Pamelle Anderson relocated back to Vancouver Island in 2020. Shortly after her defamation trial with Johnny Depp, Amber Heard relocated to Madrid, Spain.

For her work, Eva Longoria has been splitting time between Mexico and Spain. George and Amal are planning to move after George’s sister, Ada, passed away at the age of 65 after her cancer battle.

The Hollywood star praised his “hero” sibling, Ada Zeidler, saying both he and wife Amal would “miss her terribly” in a statement.

Praising his sister for “facing cancer with courage and humour”, George told People magazine: “My sister, Ada, was my hero. She faced down cancer with courage and humour. I’ve never met anyone so brave. Amal and I will miss her terribly.”
