After a “threatening” stalker reveals he knows where she lives and a source details how it’s affected her wedding plans, reality star Gemma Collins has increased security at her home.
A stalker who promised to “track her down” wrote a dreadful letter to Gemma Collins last week, leaving her “shaken.” The terrified former TOWIE star called the police after the letter arrived in the post, and Rami Hawash, her businessman fiancé, has increased security at her rural Essex home.
According to a source, the ordeal has been making Gemma, 44, sleepless nights. It’s terrible for her, she says. She had a wonderful time at DJ Fat Tony’s wedding, but she then became extremely ill and fell into a terrible state. Her home, particularly her garden, serves as her sanctuary. She’s just Gemma, not “The GC,” when she’s at home. So she was completely shocked when something unexpectedly arrived at her home, especially something so threatening and unpleasant.

According to our source, Gemma experienced “sheer terror” after being “invaded” in her safe place. She worries about leaving the house because she’s been losing sleep over it and is panicked, so she has increased her security.
Gemma’s wedding is being planned with Rami, which she absolutely hates. However, she is aware that having a public image has its advantages, and she is considering security measures for that as well. She won’t let it ruin her big day despite how badly it pooches her.
The actress, who got engaged for the third time on Valentine’s Day 2024, claimed a newspaper that the letter described the star’s relationship with Gemma and that he would track her down.
After a man wrote her a threatening and abusive letter, Gemma was left shaken and afraid for her safety and used ominous language to express his deep dislike for her.
“It was really nasty and made reference to tracking her down, so she called the police straight away. It was alarming that this man knew her home address, but she’s already upped security and has round-the-clock guard dogs and cameras on site.
She always seems to be very enthralled with all of her fans and is always willing to chat and take pictures, so it has really shocked her to receive such an unpleasant letter.
Police have since launched an investigation, and the source says Gemma is thankful they’ve taken the threat seriously. They claim the reality star – who is being supported by family and friends – was reminded of Holly Willoughby ’s stalker ordeal last year. Gavin Plumb is now in prison serving a life sentence after a foiled plot to kidnap, rape and kill the former This Morning presenter.
She didn’t want to risk anything because she had thought about Holly Willoughby and her ordeal with the kidnapping threat.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time the actor has come into contact with fame’s negative aspects. She claimed in a May podcast that she has had “terrifying” letters from her Brentwood boutique to her boutique over the years and has had several stalkers.
She said it “played havoc on her mind” and was the reason she moved away from front-of-house work at the boutique. “No one would believe the b****y crap I’ve had to deal with,” she confessed. “I’ve had a woman stalker who wrote me a letter in white gloves and wanted to kill me. People would wish me dead. I’d get all sorts at the shop. People are weird. And that’s why I came away from my shop.”
And in 2019, it was revealed that Gemma called the police after a stalker, a man she claimed had verbally abused her outside of her home for six days, targeted her. She was left wondering if she could stay in Essex because of how traumatizing the experience was.
Indeed, our source asserts that although this is not her first experience with something like this, she is still frightened. She’s previously faced significant challenges, and she wants to feel secure in doing so.
She’d love to say, “It doesn’t affect me,” but it does. She thought immediately of Holly Willoughby’s experience and how you can’t just ignore something so serious.
Gemma also battled pneumonia earlier this month. She said at the time, “I’ve had it for more than three weeks and was given steroids by my doctor. I had to take them to get to DJ Fat Tony’s wedding. However, I’m taking them now, and the sickness is returning.
I’m normally so energetic and I’m always enjoying life, which is frustrating. But now I’m really, really fast, and I’m dying.
