US Open 2025

Dates: August 24 through September 7 in Flushing Meadows, New York

Alfie Hewett of Great Britain defeated American Charlie Cooper to win the US Open wheelchair singles title.

Hewett, the 17-year-old, defeated the 17-year-old in a 6-0, 6-2 victory in just 61 minutes.

After missing the previous year’s competition due to conflicting schedules with the Paralympics, wheelchair tennis is making its way back to New York.

Hewett, who won the Australian Open title in January and won it in 2022 and 2023, is chasing a second Grand Slam singles title this year.

Greg Slade and Andy Lapthorne, fellow Britons, also advanced to the quad singles round.

Slade won three matches to seal a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (19) victory over Brazil’s Leandro Pena, while Lapthorne, a two-time US Open champion, defeated South African Donald Ramphadi 6-2, 6-3.
