Roy Thomas, a former Llanelli hooker who won New Zealand in 1972, passed away at the age of 82.
In the 1970s, Thomas had an unforgivable track record, sitting on the Wales bench 25 times without ever winning a cap.
He was thwarted by the presence of legendary Wales, Pontypool, and British and Irish Lions hooker Bobby Windsor in a time when only injuries were made a part.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Roy “Sunto” Thomas’ passing, a member of the legendary Llanelli side that defeated the All Blacks, said Scarlets in a social media post.
“Roy’s family and friends are in our thoughts at the Scarlets.”
