Fans have divided over the new vegan football kits Forest Green Rovers have revealed, with some calling them “horrendous” and “out there.”
For the new 2025/26 season, the Gloucestershire team announced their players would be playing on the field in a “inspired by nature” pattern in a fluorescent leopard-style print pattern.
As part of the club’s commitment to reduce waste and make it easier for fans to buy a new design every year, the new home shirt will be worn for two seasons.

The Vegan Society claims to be the “world’s first fully certified vegan kit,” and both organizations have collaborated with Reflo to create the official official teamwear partner.
According to club president Dale Vince, the kit’s pattern was inspired by a barking tree frog and was created using recycled monofibre materials and plant-based dyes.
We’ve tried bamboo and coffee grounds in previous seasons in search of the most sustainable football kit, he continued.

Some skeptical fans describing the kit as “horrendous” are not all on board, though.
Is that supposed to appeal to me? One supporter expressed support. How long will that be on them?
Another person continued, “I can’t believe that they wouldn’t do that, wouldn’t they? ” The more traditional takes, in my opinion, are appealing.
One fan, however, inquired as to whether she could own the kit.
She responded, “I want one.” “Just to wear out anyway,” I adore leopard print.
