The first para-sport to receive the title of “Para-sport” will be the Para-powerlifting category’s first medal at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The event’s schedule, which will span four city venues from July 23 through August 2, was made public on Thursday.
More than 200 medals will be won in 11 days and more than 300 athletes from 74 Commonwealth countries and territories will compete.
More medal winners will be announced for swimming, track cycling, and para sports than for any of the previous 22 games.
The Commonwealth Mile, which replaces the 1500m, and the mixed 4x400m relay will be the new sport.
With a total medal record of 47, parasport will be fully integrated into six of the ten disciplines.
