John Elkann, the company’s chairman, claims Frederic Vasseur is the team’s “full confidence.”

The Italian team has had a difficult season, and they could end up in fourth place in the constructors’ championship if they finish second earlier in the year.

Lewis Hamilton won the second race of the season at the Chinese Grand Prix, earning them their only victory this year.

According to a report that claimed Ferrari had been discussing a move to replace Vasseur with former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, Elkann made the remarks.

He continued, “I want to express my full confidence in Fred Vasseur, our team principal, and in the work he and all of our colleagues at Scuderia Ferrari are doing as the mechanics, engineers, and drivers who are taking part this weekend in Austin.

Elkann delivered a speech before the National Italian American Foundation celebrated its 50th anniversary at a ceremony in Washington, DC.

Vasseur, who has been in his position since January 2023, was recently given a new contract by Ferrari.

Hamilton claimed on Thursday at the US Grand Prix in Austin that Horner and Ferrari stories were “distracting”.

Ferrari issued guidance that implied there was no truth to the Horner claims, leading to Elkann’s comments.
