Final-round leaderboard for the Soudal Open

-13 K. Reitan (Nor), D. Van Driel (Ned), and E. Ferguson (Sco).

Ewen Ferguson of Scotland lost out on a play-off for the fourth consecutive year to win the Soudal Open in Belgium.

The overnight leader, who had a chance to win, bogeyed his final hole, causing a three-way play-off with Dutchman Darius van Driel and Norwegian Kristoffer Reitan.

Reitan won the first career title on the European tour, and he did it with a win.

Reitan shot a course-record 62 while trailing the Scot by nine shots and finishing the day in 23rd place.

With a final round of level-par 71, Ferguson, Reitan, and Van Driel tied at 13 under.

After Ferguson and Van Driel missed their putts, Reitan slammed into the 18th to win the play-off, flying in from 15 feet.

Reitan remarked, “I’ve had a dream since I was a young child.

It’s amazing to be able turn things around the way I have been playing for the past few years, and to seal it with victory is ridiculous. I keep thinking about this a few years ago when I was considering stopping because I didn’t find it enjoyable any more.
