FCTA Compensated All Property Owners Affected By Arterial Road Project — Wike

FCTA Compensated All Property Owners Affected By Arterial Road Project — Wike

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated on Friday that the Federal Capital Territory Administration had given compensation to all property owners who had been impacted by the Arterial Road N5’s construction.

Wike, who made the disclosure while speaking at the opening of the first phase of the newly constructed road, known as the Obafemi Awolowo Way, said he remained committed to paying the property owners despite claims that they should not be compensated because they are not non-indigenes.

He continued, “I never knew there was a place like this before until they brought the documents for me to present to the BPP and the Federal Executive Council, even when it was awarded.” However, we had a serious issue with the communities&nbsp, along with our customary method of finding out where the projects are and whether what they are doing corresponds to what we agreed. Of course, compensation was also required.

People who were living here were said to be non-indigenes and therefore don’t deserve compensation until this job would have been ended. I claimed that because he is not an indigenous person, there is someone living in his home and that you want to tear it down. I refrained from saying that is not acceptable.

“I told them all to be paid, and they were,” I said. And that is how we went down this path.

The project’s second phase will be inaugurated before the end of the year, according to the minister.

Tinubu has succeeded.

President Bola Tinubu has done well, according to Wike, citing the quality of the project.

He claimed, however, that paying taxes would not be sufficient to provide infrastructure.

You will be aware that President Tinubu has done well for the Federal Capital Territory by the time you drive down and admire the area’s beauty, which is what it requires to support a leader who cares deeply for his country.

There are challenges, of course, and we can’t avoid them. At the end of the day, I can assure everyone in this country, especially the people who live in Abuja, that there are people who care about this country, the minister added.

The road, according to President Tinubu’s representative, George Akume, the secretary to the Federation’s government, exemplifies what can be achieved when vision and action collide.

He noted that it reflected the administration’s commitment to providing modern infrastructure that enhances people’s daily lives.

The legacy of forward-thinking leadership is now being carried into the future of our capital city, according to Akume.
