Fayose Backs Tinubu, Ekiti Gov Oyebanji For Second Term

Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, announced on Monday that he supported President Bola Tinubu for a second term.

At an All Progressives Congress event held at the Ado Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, Fayose, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also endorsed Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy for a second term.

“I want to support our governor, Abayomi Oyebanji, and his deputy for a second term, as well as all well-intentioned Nigerians, especially Ekiti leaders and followers, publicly and without any reservations,” Fayose said.

Fayose said the event had attracted former Ekiti governors, state leaders, and members of the National Assembly, making the remarks that the gathering was unique.

He denied joining the All-Party party and recalled how he won all 16 local government seats to become governor of Ekiti in 2014.

Who will win in all 177 wards of Ekiti and for the first time ever break the record for wins in all 16 local governments there? That is assumed to be true. However, he continued, “We will compete and see each other when we get to the field.”

Fayose also urged everyone to unite in Ekiti to mobilize support for Oyebanji in the upcoming governorship election.

The APC is in opposition to the opposition PDP in terms of welfare, according to the ex-governor, who also made a sharp dig at it.
