In a move to end the booze ban in Scottish football, supporters may be able to purchase alcohol at a Scotland game later this year.

The Scottish FA has confirmed that the trial could take place prior to the World Cup’s opening game of one of the national team friendly matches in March or June.

On March 28 and May 30, Steve Clarke’s team will host Japan and Curacao.

Fans might be able to purchase alcohol in the stadium concourse, but the plans do not allow back-up drinkers.

This season, league matches have featured trials.
