Ex-Oyo Gov Ladoja Crowned As 44th Olubadan

Rashidi Ladoja, the former governor of Oyo State, has been formally crowned Ibadanland’s 44th Olubadan.

Ladoja received the crown at the state’s Ose Meji Temple in the state’s South-East Local Government Area, Ibadan.

On September 26, 2025, Oba Ladoja was seated in the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Governor Seyi Makinde is scheduled to give him a formal address at the Mapo Hall along with the staff of office.

Following the passing of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan, on July 7, 2025, Ladoja became the Olubadan-designate.

On September 26, 2025, the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo State, hosted the coronation.

Alaafin Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Laoye, Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, and the Chief Imam of Ibadan are present at the ceremony.

On September 26, 2025, the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo State, hosted the coronation.

To make sure a hitch-free ceremony, security personnel from the Nigerian Army are present in addition to a significant presence of security personnel, including personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS).
