Former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is due to have a medical before completing a move to Mexican side Monterrey.
Martial, 29, made 317 United appearances and scored 90 goals during a nine-year stint at Old Trafford.
He left United when his contract expired in 2024 and eventually joined Greek side AEK Athens.
Martial scored seven goals in 19 league appearances for AEK, but given the size of his salary they are not standing in his way of a transfer to Liga MX even though he still has two years left on his present deal.
The France international has missed AEK’s past seven games and last featured in a 1-0 win over Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the second qualifying round of the Conference League in July.
If he completes the move, Martial will link up with legendary former Spain and Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, who joined the club in February.
Monterrey are currently top of Liga MX with 18 points from seven games.
Martial became the world’s most expensive teenage footballer when United paid Monaco £36m to sign him in 2015.
