Euros star Agyemang returns to Brighton on loan

Michelle Agyemang has been signed back at Brighton for the 2025-26 Women’s Super League campaign after leaving Arsenal on loan.

Agyemang was named the tournament’s Young Player of the Year for his contribution to the Lionesses’ victory at Euro 2025.

The 19-year-old has a degree from Arsenal’s academy, but he made five goals in 22 games on loan with the Seagulls last season.

Dario Vidosic, head coach for Brighton, described her achievements as “unsurprising but incredible.”

She is characterized as a champion because of her character, work ethic, and unwavering commitment. We’re extremely proud of her as a club.

We’re excited for what our new season will look like when we include her in our attack because she was a crucial part of our record-breaking season last year.

Since scoring within 41 seconds on her England debut against Belgium in April, Agyemang has had a whirlwind four months.

Agyemang, who played 138 minutes of football for England during the World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland in 2021, was a huge help to head coach Sarina Wiegman.

England jumped out to victory in the quarter-final against Sweden and the semi-final against Italy thanks to goals from the bench.

The best under-21 female footballers in the world have been nominated for the women’s Kopa Trophy, which she won for her exploits in Switzerland.

After helping Brighton finish fifth, Agyemang was also chosen to win the WSL Rising Star award from last season.

Since Arsenal, who finished last season second in the WSL, is unlikely to provide a guaranteed starting spot, returning to the south coast offers a greater chance for consistent first-team football.
