Umo Eno’s resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been hailed as “historic” and capable of bringing in more investment opportunities for the South-South region, according to Edo State governor Monday Okpebholo.
Okpebholo made the remarks in a statement on Saturday, expressing his sincere thanks to Eno for leaving the APC.
Okpebholo praised Eno’s brave choice to align with the APC’s “progressive ideals” and national vision.
According to him, the action demonstrated a “profound” commitment to the advancement and development of Akwa Ibom State, ensuring its seamless integration into the federal government’s development agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “renewed hope” mantra.
Governor Umo Eno’s choice to join the APC “demonstrates his foresight and commitment to the welfare of his people,” the governor said.
It “signifies a strategic alignment that will undoubtedly increase opportunities, foster stronger collaborations, and accelerate the delivery of democratic dividends to the good Akwa Ibom State,” observed Okpebholo.

The governor of Edo emphasized the value of synergy and unity between the federal government and the states for best progress.
He expressed confidence that Governor Eno’s departure will significantly improve the South-South region’s political climate and promote regional cohesion and development.
