England’s Curry a ‘bully’ who pushed me – Contepomi

Tom Curry, an England flanker, was referred to as a “bully” who swore and shoved him in the tunnel at Allianz Stadium, according to Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi.

The Pumas won by 27-23 thanks to an on-pitch altercation that broke out between both players at full-time between Steve Borthwick’s side.

After it appeared that the visitors were unimpressed, Curry, a second-half replacement, injured full-back Juan Cruz Mallia with a late tackle, which gave the television match official a penalty that was not reported to the official.

Contepomi’s side ended the match with a player down after Mallia left the field late in the game with a suspected serious knee injury.

Contepomi described Curry’s tackle on Mallia as “until I start with it” before making the comment.

“I don’t speak English well, but I’d say it’s reckless. The match officials did not even check out the score; instead, we ended up playing with 14 and they ended up with 15.

The Pumas head coach clarified his remarks by saying, “Not a smack, a push, a hit here on the chest,” instead of “the expletive.” I don’t know, so maybe it’s just his nature.

“I was there,” I said. He was greeting one of our coaches, Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe, when he said, “No, no,” because we were angry because he had broken our player’s knee.

When he arrived, I said to him, “mate, you broke his knee,” and he shoved me. Perhaps that’s how he looks. He is unknown to me. I’m unhappy with the current circumstance.

You must be at least at least humble enough to apologize for what you did wrong after breaking someone’s knee. However, he made the opposite turn.

Perhaps that’s his bullying strategy. Good on bullies if they want to play this game. Although I am aware of the importance of rugby, it could be dangerous if we don’t look after one another.

Although Steve Borthwick, England’s head coach, was “unaware” of what transpired in the tunnel, “emotions are always flying high” after the game.”

He remarked about Curry’s alleged actions, saying, “Anyone in this room who has had any contact with Tom Curry knows there’s a character of a man.” His acting is flawless. He works well as a teammate and shows great respect for others.

Tom Curry’s character is unquestionable, in my opinion.
