A rock star who became famous in the 1980s has been diagnosed with a “very aggressive” form of cancer. Heavy metal band Junkyard’s lead singer David Roach, who drew comparisons to Guns N’ Roses, is said to have received the shock diagnosis after suffering from a “fever and cough.”

The frontman’s head, neck, and throat are affected by squamous cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer, which has since been identified as the frontman. The musician and his fiancee, Jennifer, who has to leave their jobs to take over as his full-time caregiver, claim they are still “doing nothing” from the news that they received last week.

In an emotional post shared on Junkyard’s Instagram feed, the couple revealed how it has ‘completely shattered their world’ as they thanked fans for their support.

“First of all, we want to thank you all for your unwavering support and love for us during this incredibly difficult time. We’d like to respond to each of you, but to be honest, we have no words at the moment. The post’s opening statement read, “We’re still having trouble processing the news we received on Tuesday.”

It continued, “After David’s ongoing fever and cough led us to the ER, we received results that completely shattered our world. We are attempting to navigate the emotions and uncertainty that come with it because it is devastating and life-changing.

David is demonstrating such incredible strength and resilience, and despite this darkness, he is still able to maintain his sense of humor. He is constantly reminded of how amazing he is. However, we are aware that the next step will be challenging. We will need all of your love and prayers, David made it clear that he is not giving up hope.
