Eight Killed In Kebbi Attacks, Police Launch Manhunt

Eight people were killed in coordinated attacks by gunmen in the state’s Shanga Local Government Area, according to the Kebbi State Police Command.

The attacks, which took place without warning, reportedly sparked a lot of panic and caused a lot of residents to flee to nearby neighborhoods and bushes for safety.

According to Bashir Usman, the Kebbi State Police Command’s spokesperson, seven people died in the attacks, and another victim later succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment, according to a statement released by Channels Television.

He added that one injured person is currently receiving medical attention.

Residents flee as the Kebbi Community is attacked by gunmen, too.

Security agencies have intensified patrols and surveillance to prevent further attacks, according to Usman, and coordinated operations have been conducted throughout the affected areas.

He claimed that increased patrols and surveillance are ongoing to stop further breaches while “security agencies have continued to conduct coordinated operations in the affected areas.” He added that additional information could not be provided as the operation was still being conducted.

Residents claimed that the attacks had not occurred in such a violent environment in a while and called them devastating.
