The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has urged Nigeria’s political leaders to concentrate more on the population as Muslims observe Eid-ul-Mawlid.
Bishop Daniel Okoh, the president of the CAN, expressed his joy for Nigerians and the Muslim faithful in a statement released on Friday.
He claimed that Eid-ul-Mawlid gave all Nigerians a chance to reflect on the principles of humility, compassion, justice, and devotion to God, which the Prophet exemplified.

These principles transcend religious boundaries, according to Okoh, and help us create a society that is grounded in justice, respect, and peace.
“We are reminded that Nigeria is at a crucial crossroad as our country commemorates this occasion. Renewing commitment to principles that promote fairness, accountability, and compassion are a result of the challenges of governance, economic hardship, and the deep yearning for credible leadership.
We therefore urge political leaders to make the most of this somber season, embrace justice in their choices, ease citizens’ suffering, and promote policies that foster unity and uphold the dignity of every Nigerian. If our country is to realize its potential for peace and prosperity, he added, then integrity and fairness must rule the government.
He also wished Muslims a joyful holiday, prayed that the season would “inspire stronger bonds of unity across faiths, renew our shared hope for Nigeria, and encourage us all to work together for a just and prosperous nation.”
