A charity auction featuring Ed Sheeran’s personal items has raised £15,400 for St Elizabeth Hospice in Suffolk. The items, donated by Ed, included a custom-painted acoustic guitar that sold for £4,250, as well as a pair of colourful budgie smugglers with butterflies that fetched £55.

Ed, the renowned singer-songwriter, contributed around 200 lots to the auction, which was hosted by Bishop & Miller. The items up for grabs included trainers, jackets, t-shirts, artwork, and even a dressing gown. Among the notable sales were a Batman Christmas jumper that went for £131, a Dolce & Gabbana hoodie that sold for £220, and a pair of Air Jordan trainers that brought in £165.

Although Ed’s fame has had its benefits, he recently opened up about one aspect of family life.

Ed explained in a recent interview on Louis Theroux’s podcast how having to deal with some of his more ordinary family chores has resulted in his struggle to perform his best-known roles.

He declared to the documentary’s creator, “My children’s image is very, very private. And for me, I can’t take them anywhere without someone trying to film them, like a zoo or park.

And I don’t want a stranger’s phone or other device to display my children’s image.

He acknowledged that he mourns not being able to enjoy the simple pleasure of spending time with his kids in public and that it would be strange because he had made this decision to protect his children.

Ed and Cherry Seaborn first got married while attending a Suffolk school, but they didn’t know each other until years later when they reconciled.

They soon began dating before eventually agreeing to marry in 2019 after a mutual friend’s rekindled friendship in 2015.
