Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Lansford, two television veterans who have had very different relationship histories, announced the shocking end of their 14-year union in 2024.

After his ex-girlfriend Ruth Langsford revealed that she was open to getting married again after their shocking split, Eamonn Holmes has made hints about his regret. In a joint statement released in May 2024, the former TV personality couple announced their 14-year union, and Eamonn has since moved on with relationship advisor Katie Alexander.

Ruth, 65, is reportedly still single, but she recently revealed she had counseling following her split from GB News host Eamonn, 66. She also revealed she had spoken to her about wanting to marry someone new. She claimed she hadn’t been completely put off getting married, claiming she had a “never say never” attitude toward finding another serious relationship.

She told woman&amp, home, “I haven’t been put off having a relationship.” “I haven’t even been put off marriage, but I’m definitely not actively looking,” the statement reads. Part of that is because I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m actually quite capable on my own. She also attributed her close friends’ ability to “completely support” her as she transitioned from being a single.

Eamonn has made an implication about regret over some of his past deeds right now. When asked what he would change in a new interview if he could “go back and change anything”? Earnan stated that he would “try to find a better balance between my personal life and my career.”

Speaking to Mind Jump magazine for its January 2026 edition, the former This Morning host also dodged the question “What’s your biggest regret?”, with the magazine stating it was “intentionally left unanswered.”

Eamonn, who was born in Belfast, also revealed how difficult his physical condition and mobility had been for him and how grateful he was for those who supported him.

Eamonn, age 55, had a double hip replacement in 2016 to relieve his chronic leg, hip, and back pain, which he described as “life-changing.”

He mentioned the return of his chronic pain in 2021, which turned out to be the result of three slipped discs in his back.

He ended up in hospital the following year because of his spinal issues, which had affected his bowel and bladder. He traveled to Belfast for work the following year. He later claimed that a September 2022 operation “tidied things up,” but it also raised mobility issues and led to a number of falls.
