After missing Sunday’s feature race in Baku, Alex Dunne’s chances of winning the Formula 2 title were hampered once more.

The 19-year-old Irishman had another frustrating feature race in Azerbaijan after finishing second in his two races in Monza last week.

After colliding with Leonardo Fornaroli on the 25th lap, Rodin Motorsport driver Dunne was forced to resign from the race.

The collision, which left the Italian in fifth place overall, resulted in a 10-second penalty for the Italian.

In his third feature race of the year, American Jak Crawford, who had started in pole position, beat Joshua Duerksen’s late surge to win, 19 points clear of championship leader Fornarol.

In the Saturday sprint race, Dunne came out on top and won his seventh podium of the season.

On lap 15, he recovered from a blundered first turn and finished third behind Dino Beganovic and Luke Browning.

With only two rounds left, the McLaren development driver is still fifth in the standings, 58 points behind Fornaroli.
