DSS, Military Repel Bandits In Niger, Neutralise Scores

Numerous heavily armed bandits who are believed to be loyal to Dogo Gide and Leyi have been dislodged as a result of a joint operation by members of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the military in Niger State.

A security source revealed that the operation started on Tuesday when terrorists stormed Chibani village in the state’s Munya Local Government Area (LGA) and reportedly shot one Ayuba Isah and one Alhaji Shuaibu, two other people, injuring themselves.

The bandits, who are thought to be numbered over 200, stormed a security base in Kuchi, a town in Munya LGA, on May 28. This led to a bloody battle that saw the neutralization of many of the bandits who had fled with various injuries.
