The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) members staged a walkout during a session with the House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education and Examination Bodies, which sparked a little drama at the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Due to the absence of the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Mufutau Bello, the director, was contacted to represent him.
Bello’s argument that the documents he intended to present contained sensitive information sparked a row in the meeting room.

The Committee, however, objected, insisting that its proceedings were open and that it had the right to choose how its sessions were conducted under the constitution.
The JAMB representative took a dramatic turn, revealing his resentment, ordered his team to leave, and left the session, causing stunned lawmakers to follow.
The Committee ordered the Sergeant-at-Arms to arrest the JAMB officials, but they had already left the building.
The Committee has now given the Registrar until Tuesday of next week to show up in person with his management team and present all requested documents.
