Catalans Dragons, the two-time defending Wheelchair Challenge Cup champions, were kicked out of the 2025 competition by tournament organizers after a contentious international match-relation.

Next month’s quarter-final match between the French side and the Halifax Panthers was scheduled.

However, the Rugby Football League (RFL) claimed Catalans had been denied entry because they had been “refused by the French Federation to play any international games against England until the World Cup in the fall of 2004.”

The top international teams in the world rankings are France and England, with France and England both winning the World Cup in Manchester in 2022.

At the conclusion of the previous two seasons, England and England have faced off in double-headers, but the series will be played in Australia later this year.

The Dragons, who include England international Seb Bechara, won the French Cup final earlier this month.

Since their debut in 2022, they have won three of their final three games and have dominated the Challenge Cup.
