Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, known in the music industry as P Diddy, was sentenced to 50 months in prison in October after he was found guilty on prostitution-related charges.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has repeatedly asked Donald Trump to pardon his prison sentence, it is said.

But the US President, 79, has described the shamed rapper as “very hostile” and indicated he will not agree to the request. The pair had been good friends but Mr Trump suggested their relationship soured when he initially ran for president in 2016.

Since then, Combs — known as P Diddy in the music industry — has been found guilty of prostitution-related charges. The father of seven was sentenced in October to 50 months in jail, though it is now understood he wants help from his former friend.

Yet, speaking today, Mr Trump said he has no intention of granting Combs’ request. Speaking previously about how his and Combs’ “relationship busted up,” the US President alleged Combs made “nasty statements” about him when he ran for office in 2016.

Speaking to the press last year, the world leader said: “I haven’t seen him, I haven’t spoken to him for years… I don’t know. I would certainly look at the facts. If I think somebody was mistreated it wouldn’t matter whether they like me or don’t. I got along with him great. Seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile. … It’s hard.

“We’re human beings. We don’t like to have things cloud our judgment, right? But when you knew someone and you were fine and then you run for office and he made some terrible statements. So, I don’t know. It’s more difficult,” he added. “Makes it more, I’m being honest, makes it more difficult to do.”

But photographs show P Diddy and Mr Trump at various events throughout the late 1990s when the musician was at the height of his fame, and Mr Trump had made his wealth through his family’s real estate business.

Recalling his history with Mr Trump, Combs sent him a letter last month, it is understood. According to the New York Times, this was a request to be pardoned — less than three months into his jail term.

When he was asked more details about the request, Mr Trump said: “Oh, would you like to see that letter?” HJowever, The Times noted that the president did not produce the letter.
