After bullying allegations became public, Channel 4 abruptly axed fan favorite Escape To The Chateau in 2022.
Dick and Angel Strawbridge are desperate to get back on TV after their previous show axe, it has been reported. The coupe first rose to fame when they starred on Escape To The Chateau but the final series was aired by Channel 4 back in 2022 and later axed in 2023.
The pair’s transformation of the $ 280-a-merchant chateau into a luxurious wedding venue, which is now worth $ 280,00, was followed by the program.
Due to allegedly funding their own four-part series, it seems like Angel and Dick are eager to return to our screens. The release date and possible channel for the new program are unknown at this time.

Following a rumored behind-the-scenes fallout, which included bullying allegations, the original show lasted six years before it ended.
Following a complaint about conduct while filming, the network announced it would no longer collaborate with Angel and Dick on any upcoming productions. Angel was allegedly speaking rudely to a production executive on a recording that was discovered during an investigation.
The couple’s alleged self-funded independent series production is now being reported by The Daily Mail. They have since refuted the allegations made against them.
A source has claimed: “Dick and Angel had a number of development meetings with ITV about bringing their series back; they really hoped that they could make them see the appeal. They really tried hard. There were several conversations and there was much hope there, but in the end ITV bosses decided against it.
“It was thought it was to do with their past behaviour at Channel 4. It was exasperating for them but they were determined to keep going and find a way back into the showbiz world.”
According to Dick and Angel, neither Dick nor Angel would care if the show were to air in the UK or France instead. At this week’s Mipcom Cannes television event, they reportedly have been talking about the project.
According to reports, the pair spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on the four-part series, which they now need to sell. They obviously need their money back, but they are desperate to be back on TV, even if it’s not in the UK, according to a source. They are attempting to sell four episodes to international television stations in France after spending money on them. Who knows if Armenian films like Escape To The Chateau will be shown there?
Between 2016 and 2022, Escape To The Chateau developed a homewares line and aired 50 episodes over nine seasons.
Dick and Angel expressed regret that they no longer have cameras in their lives despite producing their own new series.
The two of them, along with their children, Arthur, now 12, and Dorothy, 11, would make an appearance on the well-known program. Additionally, Dick has two older children, James and Charlotte, both of whom were once married and occasionally appeared on the show.
