The BBC previously announced Stefan Dennis will not be performing on Strictly this weekend due to illness and now Dianne Buswell has been forced to hit back at cruel theories
After it was revealed that Stefan Dennis will not be performing on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend due to illness, his dance partner Dianne Buswell has hit back at cruel theories circulating on social media.
The Aussie-native took to Instagram to set the record straight as she penned on her stories: “I just have to clarify as I have had lots of people messaging me thinking this is a cover up for me not being able to dance?
“Firstly we wouldn’t lie especially about somebody being sick. And secondly I am fine, yes I’m pregnant but I’m also very capable and feeling really good. Thirdly there are things in place if any pro were to get sick or injured.”
The Strictly Come Dancing Instagram page revealed the news on Friday (October 10) as they said: “Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised by doctors to rest and as a result, he will not dance this weekend.
“In lines with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week when they will hopefully be able to dance again.”

Fans flocked to the comments section to send the Neighbours star well wishes as one expressed: “Get well soon, I hope to see you back on the dance floor next week.”
Another viewer commented: “Wishing Stefan a speedy recovery. Cannot wait to see the Aussies back on the dance floor,” while a third said: “Get well soon Stefan.”
The news was also shared by Janette Manrara on Friday night’s It Takes Two as she sent Stefan her love and said she hoped to see him back on the dancefloor next week.
Prior to clapping back at the theories, Dianne shared a post on Instagram to wish her partner a speedy recovery. She wrote: “Sending Aussie love to the wonderful @stefandennis7 you are such a trooper and I know how much you wanted to dance. Hopefully we will be back in full force next week.”
Stefan, responded to the announcement himself, writing: “A huge cheers and thanks to everyone who has been supporting myself and Dianne.
“So sorry to disappoint for tomorrow night but I expect to be back on deck with a full recovery and a rip roaring dance next week to makeup.”
Stefan received a mixed reaction for his routine last week as he and Dianne performed the Cha Cha Cha.
He had told the judges he was “petrified” before taking to the stage, explaining how the routine had “stumped him”. And it appeared those nerves may have continued as he left the stage.
As he climbed the steps there was panic as he misplaced his footing and tripped up the stairs. A panicky Dianne caught him and exclaimed: “Golly gosh. Be careful, be careful.” Thankfully, he was left unharmed by the stumble.
The judges awarded the pair a total score of 17, which received a round of applause from the rest of the cast.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 6:05pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
