President Bola Tinubu has stated that he anticipates more people joining the All Progressives Congress in the wake of the wave of defections that have affected the major opposition parties.
The President, who made the remarks at the party’s annual summit in Abuja on Thursday, said that those who violated their right to freedom of movement and associateship should not be held accountable.
Tinubu once said, “Before I skip, I just need to tell those who think the one-party system is bad. One party is in power and is advancing Nigerians’ goals.
What begins, exactly? You don’t blame someone who is rescuing from a sinking ship without a life jacket.

I’m happy of what we have and anticipating more, as the saying goes, that’s the game.
We are a democracy that adheres to the Constitution. Remember that the freedom of association and freedom of movement are not criminally repressible.
“Welcome to the Progressives,” Clean them with soap.
Gale of Defections
In recent months, one governor and two federal and state legislators have departed from the PDP.
Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor of Delta State, and Ifeanyi Okowa, his succeeding governor, made their APC official debut on April 28.
Oborevwori joined his deputy, members of the House of Assembly, commissioners, chairmen of local government, and councillors in supporting the decision.
The governor characterized his choice as a movement, not a defection.
Six House of Representatives members from Delta State left the PDP and joined the APC eight days later.
Tajudeen Abbas, the House’s speaker, read the defection notices during plenary.
Victor Nwokolo, Julius Pondi, Julius Pondi, and Thomas Ereyitomi, both from the North/South division of the Warriors, are among them.
Ezechi Nnamdi and Nicholas Mutu (Bomadi/Patani), Ukodhiko Jonathan (Isoko North/Isoko South), and Ndokwa/Ukwuani Nnamdi.
Senators Adamu Aliero, from the PDP to the APC, and Yahaya Abdullahi, from the Kebbi North Senatorial District, and Garba Maidoki, from the PDP, were deported on May 13th.  ,

By bringing the number of APC senators to 68, their departure increased the party’s majority in the upper chamber.
Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, instructed all of his commissioners and appointees to either defect to the APC or step down from their positions on Thursday.
He said, “It was a good idea to speak at the State Executive Council on Thursday.”
If you haven’t heard that I’m moving party by now, I don’t know what else you have to know.
So we want our commissioners, members of the Excos, appointees, and other members of the excos to inform me that some of you are telling me not to join me, that you are absolutely free to, but that you won’t be in my state executive council.
You should just be prepared to resign as soon as I announce that I’m moving because you are an appointee and I value your loyalty.
