The Masked Singer singer has stated that she is “stepping back” from her full-time job and that her “very, very frightening” breast cancer diagnosis has “put everything in place” for her.

Davina McCall has said she will step back from full time work following her breast cancer diagnosis. The Masked Singer star announced in November that she underwent surgery to remove a cancerous lump from her breast, which had not spread as it was caught early.

Talking on the Miss Me? podcast, Davina revealed that her recent health blow made her re-think her work-life balance. She shared that all her health issues, including her drug addiction and brain tumour, had led to “breakthroughs” in her mind. “I had an amazing breakthrough when I got clean in the early nineties,” she said.

After having my brain tumor removed, I made a significant breakthrough. I realized I needed to give my life some rest. I did notice that, but then the breast cancer, which I thought was extremely frightening, made me realize that I really, really had to put that in place. And I’m here now.

I’ll be working a four-day week, she continued. I’m trying to make my life more balanced and feel a lot better about it now. I really want to take more care of myself as I get closer to this stage of my life. My most recent project is about me because I can’t care for anyone else if I’m not well.

Davina began using heroin in her 20s. Before beginning her MTV career as a presenter, she had an addiction but was able to get past it.

Years later, the former Big Brother presenter revealed she had been diagnosed with a rare brain tumour. In November 2024, she announced that she had been diagnoses with a colloid cyst and had to have neurosurgery.

A year later, she revealed her breast cancer diagnosis. She shared via Instagram that she spoke about her experience with the latter cancer to “help someone” and urge others to “get checked”.

Davina and her partner Michael Douglas got married shortly afterward. After six years of dating, the presenter and the hairdresser got married in December. After Matthew Robertson, to whom she was married for 18 years, and Andrew Leggett, to whom she was married for less than a year, he is her third husband.

Holly, Tilly, and Chester are Davina’s three children with her ex-husband, Matthew. According to reports, the two have a happy co-parenting relationship. She shared in February 2025 that she had been diagnosed with brain cancer and was concerned about what might have happened to her children if she “didn’t make it.”

She stated in a conversation on Begin Again, “I did go and address my will and make sure that was airtight.” Michael and I discussed my wishes. I included wishes in my will for all the children.
