When Ireland host Italy on February 14th, Hollie Davidson of Scotland will be the first woman to referee a men’s Six Nations game.

The 33-year-old has a history of notable accomplishments, having been the first woman to referee a New Zealand Test in November when they defeated Wales 52-26 in Cardiff. She became Scottish Rugby’s first full-time female in 2017 and has also had a notable success.

In addition to the 2025 European Challenge Cup final between Bath and Lyon, Davidson has officiated two Women’s World Cup finals.

She will also serve as one of the assistant referees for France’s 2026 Six Nations match against England in Paris on March 14th. Along with that, she will also take charge of the Ireland vs. Italy game.

Davidson remarked, “I’m really looking forward to playing in the Guinness Six Nations.”

The last year has been very memorable, and I’m hoping to do well going forward.
