It is thought that Sir David Beckham is worried that his son Brooklyn won’t attend his Hollywood Walk for Fame ceremony, which the sports legend calls “public humiliation.”
Sir David Beckham is thought to be fearful that his son Brooklyn will not turn up at his Hollywood Walk for Fame ceremony. The sports star, 50, is due to receive a coveted spot on the tourist attraction in LA, having been announced for the honour in 2024 following the global success of his self-titled Netflix documentary.
Other stars to have been announced to receive a star on the landmark include actress Jessica Chastain, Hollywood star Colin Farrell and Lauren Graham of Gilmore Girls fame. Organisers have two years to schedule a ceremony for each celebrity figure, but David’s family situation has been somewhat tricky in over the course of the last year, as it seems his eldest child Brooklyn, 26, has become somewhat estranged from his parents and siblings ever since he tied the knot with Nicola Peltz.
It will be the second honour in recent times for David, who was knighted by King Charles towards the end of last year, but Brooklyn did not attend that ceremony either. A source told The Sun : “Brooklyn snubbing David’s special day will be a very public humiliation as he lives in Hollywood. Of course, David is hopeful the family will have mended their relations by then, especially after he has offered an olive branch to Brooklyn. The rift has been a great cause of heartache.”

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, it emerged that Brooklyn blocked his father mum Victoria and brothers Cruz and Romeo from his social media accounts. But friends of the Beckhams say David and Victoria will “never give up” hope of reconciliation. The New Year message, described by one source as David’s “boldest olive branch yet”, marked David setting “for the record his love for his son.”
