Danny Dyer has been married to his wife Joanne Mas for nearly a decade – but it nearly didn’t happen. Joanne was the one who got down on one knee on Valentine’s Day in 2015.
At the time, the EastEnders star and Joanne shared three kids – and he admitted her proposal was “a complete bolt out of the blue”. Speaking about the moment, Danny said he loves the fact she was the one who proposed.
She said, “It was a complete b**t out of the blue, but I’m so glad she did it because I don’t think I could have accepted the rejection.” Jo’s proposal is wonderful.
Her proposal came after Danny admitted he cheated on her in the past. Discussing what happened, Jo said it was hard but she wouldn’t want to “destroy the lives” of her children over it.
His then-fiance Joanne added to Hello! magazine: “It’s been difficult, but I’m over it. It’s not just me and Danny when you have kids. For a reason that is irrelevant, I wouldn’t risk destroying my babies’ lives.
Danny then stated, “I thought the grass was greener, but the grass was awful, and I’ll never want to go there again.”
In 2015, Joanne said the engagement would have “never happen” if she hadn’t gotten engaged to the couple, who had already been dating on Valentine’s Day.
She continued, “I’ve always wanted to marry Danny, but I never thought about it.”
When the children were young, I never wanted to marry because I wanted to enjoy the day and let my hair down. The moment is right because we already have our first child and aren’t expecting any more, though.
Danny’s life is in the spotlight amid a new show called The Assembly, where he is quizzed about his life.
She emptied his bank account and kicked him out of it after she had abused him for his outrageous behavior in 2000, and Danny responded, “She controls everything now.
“Yes, she did kick me out because I was rude. She also deserved better. I would occasionally leave the house and take drugs before three days without returning home. I never wanted the party to end because I had problems. She had a right to expel me.
In his response, he was also questioned about his working-class roots and whether he thought he had betrayed them by privately raising his children. “What you want to do is earn some money and then move to a better place, a better area where you can raise your children. However, I changed the way my children are now not on the street. I don’t regret it, but I long for some insight into what it’s like to struggle.
