Dani Dyer, a star of Love Island, was forced to leave the Strictly Come Dancing studio days before her first dance on the series’ first live performance. She had a painful injury.

After being forced to leave the show earlier this week due to an injury, Dani Dyer has now shared a sweet message to her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars.

Following a fall during rehearsals that caused her to fracture her ankle, it was made public on Tuesday that the 29-year-old would no longer be able to compete in the show. Dani has sent her co-stars a message of support despite being unable to participate.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the mum-of-three wrote: “Good luck to all the gorgeous cast starting there Strictly journey tonight. Can’t wait to watch you all, so proud & know how hard you’ve all been working.. see you all soon.”

The official Strictly Come Dancing Instagram page revealed the sad news of Dani’s exit as they captioned it: “Unfortunately due to an injury Dani Dyer is no longer able to compete in #Strictly 2025. She’ll be sorely missed and we wish her a speedy recovery.”

Dani remarked, “I fell on Friday during rehearsals and landed funny. My foot swelled up so much over the weekend, and it turns out I’ve broken my ankle after an MRI yesterday.

I was forced to leave the show because it seemed like performing the Quickstep on a broken leg was not recommended and because the doctors had told me I was not allowed to dance.

The biggest understatement is to say I’m heartbroken. Although I’m going to miss Nikita dancing, I’ll definitely be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.

Following the news, Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios added: “Dani has brought so much passion, joy and enthusiasm to Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita was off to the most sensational start.

Everyone on the show is deeply sad that she is unable to compete in the current series this year. We wish her the best recovery possible and express our love to her in the future.

Dani’s professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin took to his own Instagram to share how “gutted” he was to not perform with her on a live show. He penned: “So so gutted to have finished our journey before it even properly started.

“We had an incredible amount of fun and laughs in such a short amount of time!” After posting a number of photos and videos of the two of them in rehearsals and at the launch show, Nikita wrote, “Really loved our partnership and hope that one day we can actually get to week one.”

He continued, “breaking my heart,” and said he was hoping for the best for her because she was so eager to watch the show. He said, “Hopefully we can pick up next year.”

Dani responded, “It brought me to tears.” She stated, “I’m crying again,” in Nikita’s post comments. Thank you for being the best teacher you have ever had, for being the most generous and amazing. We’re going to miss our laughs and dancing with you; let’s try again one day and arrange our team name.
