In honor of President Bola Tinubu’s contributions to the project, Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, has given the main road to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos its name.

The Deep Sea Port Access Road, an infrastructure connecting the Dangote Fertilizer Plant to the Eleko Junction, was officially opened on Thursday during the official commissioning ceremony for the Lagos State Deep Sea Port Access Road.

According to Dangote, “The Dangote refinery complex is your brainchild in many ways.” The main road leading to our refinery will now be known as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road, Mr. President, so let me just say one thing.

He praised Tinubu’s leadership, calling him a “courageous” and “ambitious” leader whose administration has rekindled investor confidence in the private sector.

We are confident that your courageous and ambitious leadership will result in even greater opportunities for our people and our nation through continued cooperation and shared resolve, he said.

You are a very courageous leader, Mr. President. Please carry on your excellent work. I appreciate your prayers and encouragement. You should definitely look forward to more and anticipate more, as this will give us more confidence to back your government.

On May 2, 2025, President Bola Tinubu was present in Katsina.

In a moment of applause for the present dignitaries, President Tinubu raised his hand with the Dangote Group president/CEO.

The deep-sea port access road is “one of eight major projects totaling 500km, including two in Borno State, that will connect Nigeria to both Chad and Cameroon,” according to Dangote.
