With her Bridgerton voice-over performance as Lady Whistledown, Dame Julie Andrews has finally received an Emmy Award.
The 89-year-old actress previously received awards for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and in 2025 she triumphed over strong opposition from Hank Azaria for The Simpsons, Maya Rudolph for Big Mouth, Alan Tudyk for Andor, and Jeffrey Wright for What If…? and Steven Yeun of Invincible.
Andrews, who was not present at the ceremony, was presented the award by Craig Robinson, the presenter of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys.
Andrews previously received Emmy nominations for her roles as Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton in 2021 and 2022, and Queen Charlotte in 2023.
Bridgerton premiered on Netflix in 2020 and Andrews previously revealed she had never met any of her co-stars.
She continued, “You know, I’ve never met the company in person,” she said on the Today show. Of course, I occasionally see them on television. But I don’t get any shots when I record.

They all look stunning, have wonderful personalities, and are wonderful to work with, “I think it looks beautiful.” Shonda Rhimes and the entire gang are fantastic, especially the producer. And I’m delighted that they contacted me.
The top winners were also present on the opening night of the 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which was devoted to scripted programming and animation, on Saturday, June 6, 2005 in Los Angeles.
Seth Rogen, who co-created The Studio with his long-term partner Evan Goldberg, won nine awards, followed by Colin Farrell’s The Penguin, which received eight Emmys, and the psychological drama Severance, which received six.
Severance had 27 nominations, The Penguin had 24, and The Studio had 23 while The White Lotus had 23.
The Studio’s awards included a comedy series guest actor for Bryan Cranston, contemporary set design for a series, casting for a comedy series, single-camera comedy series sound editing, sound mixing, and animation, music supervision, and cinematography for a series (half-hour).
The Penguins awards included non-prosthetic (non-prosthetic), prosthetic (non-prosthetic), contemporary hairstyling, special visual effects in a single episode, sound editing for a limited or anthology series, movie or special, sound mixing for a limited or anthology series, movie or special, and music composition for a limited or anthology series, movie or special (original dramatic score).
Severance won awards for guest acting for Merritt Wever’s drama series, producing an hour or more of a narrative contemporary show, title design, sound mixing, original dramatic music, series music composition, and cinematography.
Each of Andor, Arcane, Love, Death + Robot, and Arcane received four Emmys.
