Cunha, Barnes and Sessegnon to shine – FPL tips and team of week

We now have a blank with four teams not playing after two Fantasy Premier League double gameweeks in a row.

If you still have that chip in your hand, now is the ideal time to make a Free Hit.

If not, you might be wondering why you had 11 players on your team before they left.

Your strategy should be sorted out by our week-ending team.

Remember that only Arsenal, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Manchester City are currently away.

What was the performance of the FPL team from the previous week?

A double gameweek total of 69 points is a little disappointing.

Bukayo Saka’s four points as captain really hurt, as FPL managers had to settle for two one-pointers despite his massive week-end xGI score. Oh well 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 : !

Everton keeper Robert Sanchez, Chelsea, for £4.5 million (h)

Everton, who has only scored four goals in their last six games, has the third-lowest 10 big chances in the league.

Tottenham (h) vs. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool, £7.2 million

If the rumors of a summer move to Real Madrid are accurate, this might be one of the last times we can choose the greatest FPL defensive player.

Alexander-Arnold is still the top-scoring FPL defender despite only starting 26 games this year.

If Spurs’ focus is on the Europa League semi-final four days later, Liverpool could easily prevent them from scoring, especially with their attacking potential.

Everton (h) Marc Cucurella, Chelsea, £5.4 million

Which forward players can you rely on when Everton plays at home? Chelsea assets are great for this FPL match-up, but which one is that? Every other player takes a minute to risk, especially Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson, both of whom are in decline.

Cucurella, move forward. Chelsea needed the Spaniard this season because he has six goals in all competitions, as joked about last week’s boss Enzo Maresca about his scoring prowess last week.

In the Premier League, he ranks fifth behind the team in scoring.

Everton’s goals have dried up, so this is a straightforward form-plus-fixtures choice.

Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, £4.1 million – Southampton (a)

A cheap defender facing the league’s lowest-scoring team in OOP (Out of Position) as a wide forward?

Sessegnon has been successful in the first three games of Fulham.

The 24-year-old has three goals and two assists in his previous seven games, including four starts. Rodrigo Muniz is the only forward to score more shots, big chances, and goals for Fulham at the time.

In that time, he also had more shots than any other defender in the league.

Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri, £5 million, Leicester (h)

Another cheap, high-upside defender with excellent chances of keeping a clean sheet and potential against Leicester’s turgid attack.

Ait-Nouri enters such threatening positions, and his statistics support that.

Midfield

Mohamed Salah (vice-captain), Liverpool, £13.8m – Tottenham (h)

Given that Salah has only had one assist in his previous four games, it might be a little dubious to keep him on this week’s list.

However, Liverpool last scored six goals and added 21 points. Going without him this week is not worth the risk.

Luis Diaz, Liverpool, £7.5m – Tottenham (h)

Last time vs. Spurs, Diaz scored 13 FPL points.

A win at Anfield will be a fantastic win for the club against a Spurs side that will be the main focus of the season against a Europa League side that has conceded six goals in its previous two games.

A potential goalfest is all that is planned. Diaz is Liverpool’s next-best forward pick with 11 goals and seven assists so far this season.

Harvey Barnes, Newcastle, Ipswich (h) for $6 million

Barnes leads all Newcastle players in attacking stats in the last six games. His incredible run of form allows him to keep Anthony Gordon fit out of the team.

In those six games, Barnes has four goals and four assists, more than Alexander Isak’s record of 18 shots coming from the box, compared to Barnes’.

He has scored 50% of Newcastle’s goals during that time, and manager Eddie Howe will find it difficult to let him out of this exciting game against Ipswich.

Manchester United (h) Justin Kluivert, Bournemouth, £6 million

Another team’s season is now firmly oriented toward Europe, including Manchester United. Who knows what kind of team Ruben Amorim will face in their Europa League semi-final first leg against Bournemouth?

Strikers

Wolves, £6.9 million – Leicester (h) Matheus Cunha (captain)

With 14 goals and five assists, the Brazilian has been a FPL star this year. Given that he has only started 25 games, that is not bad.

Only Salah (51) and Chris Wood (39) have more bonus points this season, making Cunha and Salah (9) a bonus-point magnet. He tends to be in and around the bonus when he gets a return, which makes him a fantastic captain shout this week.

In their 33 games, Relegated Leicester conceded 73 goals, which is a game where Cunha will wrack up.

Brentford, £6.9 million, Chris Wood, Nottingham Forest (h)

This week, we’re supporting another of the season’s stars, kind-of-forgotten-man Wood.

If he scores, as previously mentioned, he’s a good wager for bonus points.

Subs’ bench

Everton keeper Filip Jorgensen, Chelsea, for £4.2 million (h)

Brighton striker Danny Welbeck, who has made £5.5 million for West Ham (h)?

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi, £5.5 million – Southampton (a)

Newcastle defender Tino Livramento, £4.6 million Ipswich (h)

Team total cost: £93.1m

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy for £5.3 million

Hear me out, please. In what could be his final Premier League season, he has scored in just 10 games but will face Southampton and Ipswich at home in four gameweeks.

What team should I use?

Brentford (h), Crystal Palace (a), and Leicester (h) are Nottingham Forest- Brentford (h).

If Forest defeat Manchester City in their FA Cup semi-final, they could have the best remaining fixture schedule.
