Crocker-Donovan rematch confirmed for Windsor Park

On Saturday, September 13, Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan will compete for the vacant IBF welterweight title in Belfast’s Windsor Park stadium. The rematch has been upgraded to a world title fight.

The first-ever world title fight between two Irish boxers will take place at the venue, which promotes Matchroom Boxing confirmed on Thursday.

Jaron “Boots” Ennis, an American, previously held the welterweight title.

In front of an 8,500 crowd at the SSE Arena in his native Belfast, Crocker claimed the victory in the first encounter between the pair on March 1 as the pair’s final contest for the IBF title.

The IBF granted a rematch following Donovan’s team’s appeal, which would once again serve as the final eliminator for the world title, but the belt fell due to Ennis moving up to light-middleweight.
