Crews tackle fire at Luton Town laundry room

Luton Town Football Club’s staff have been working to put out a fire in the laundry room, but the result won’t have an impact on Saturday’s crucial home game against Coventry City.

Images shared on social media reportedly showed firefighters battling a black smoke outbreak inside the Kenilworth Road stadium.

According to the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, the fire was called at 20:08 BST, and it was put out in less than two hours.

The club reported that smoke was discovered coming from a small appliance in the stadium’s laundry room that had caught fire and had been taken care of immediately to stop any significant damage.

In the incident, firefighters claimed to use two hose reels, a 9m (30ft) ladder, and breathing apparatus.

At 12:30 BST on Saturday, the Hatters will take on Coventry City in a game that will have a significant impact on both ends of the championship.

The organization predicted that the game would go as planned.
