Tukur Mohammed Mamu, an alleged terrorists negotiator, has requested new bail from Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
In a decision on Wednesday, Justice Mohammed Umar took note of Mamu’s health complaint and ruled that the Department of State Services (DSS), the agency responsible for detaining him, should send him to a reputable health facility where he would receive adequate care.
Justice Umar noted that the prosecution has shown diligence in both handling and prosecuting the case throughout the case history.

The judge argued that one of the arguments for granting bail is because the prosecution is being diligent, not because the prosecution is being diligent in this case.
After that, he directed the defense attorney to select a health care provider that would be most convenient for the defendant and that he would pick him right away.
