Some #EndSARS protesters have been liable for 10 million in damages from the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and the Inspector-General of Police for violating their fundamental rights.
Justice Musa Kakaki ruled in his decision that the plaintiffs and protesters were subject to unfair harassment and violating their constitutional rights while attending the fourth memorial rally on October 20, 2024.

Justice Kakaki argued that while law enforcement agencies have constitutional authority to keep the law, it must be done within the framework of democracy and the rule of law.
Among the defendants in court are Olamilekan Sanusi, Uadiale Kingsley, Ilesanmi Kehinde, Osopale Adeseye, Olamilekan Sanusi, and Miss Osugba Blessing, among others.
Organizations like the Education Rights Campaign (ERC), Take It Back Movement (TIBM), and Campaign for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR) joined them.
