Court Order For Conduct Of Osun LG Poll ‘Laughable’, Says Ex-Commissioner
Remi Omowaiye, a former commissioner for works and transportation and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has criticized an Ilesa High Court order regarding the organization of elections for chairmanship and councillor positions in the state’s 30 local government areas.
He argued that a new election was irrelevant because an Appeal Court decision affirms the authority of local government officials elected under the previous APC-led state.

There is no vacancy, only a clear court ruling affirming the elected local government officials.
Therefore, you cannot hold elections, and it is also absurd that a court of a lower jurisdiction is is is is issuing an interlocutory injunction against a court of higher coordinate’s decision.
On Friday, The Court ordered the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, (OSSIEC), to conduct elections for the vacant positions of chairmen and councillors in the 30 local government areas of the South-West state.
