Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who portrayed the recognizable Theodore Huxtable on The Cosby Show, gave an explanation of how he wanted to be remembered just two months before his drowning death.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, 54, the actor who co-starred in Cosby, described how he hoped to be remembered after passing away just two months prior to his sudden death in an unintended drowning while on vacation in Costa Rica.

The Cosby Show star, who had a complex relationship with Bill Crosby, tragically drowned when a current pulled him under while he was swimming in the ocean. He was rescued by people on the beach, but was declared “lifeless at the scene”. Costa Rican National Police later confirmed to ABC that the official cause of death was asphyxia.

Malcolm-Jamal spoke about his legacy on Melyssa Ford’s Hot &amp, Bothered podcast just two months before his passing. He declared, “I will leave this earth with the knowledge that I was a good person.”

adding that “My dad frequently told me, “You know people love you, and people are] always talking about your career and success and everything else, but what really makes me the most proud is that you are a good person.”

The actor also discussed his career and how he hoped Hollywood would have a positive impact on his career. The actor is well known for his roles in Reed Between the Lines and The Resident, as well as The Cosby Show, The Cosby Show, and The Resident.

Malcolm also remarked, “On one lane there is a legacy there,” as my mother once said to me, “Mr. Cosby gave you immortality.” However, I have a second path of legacy to take because I’ve lived this full life since that show.

Reflecting on his life, he also wanted people to learn important lessons from his experiences. He said he hoped to show people: “with all of the darkness in the world, it is possible to maintain your soul and be a good person.”

His friends and family eluded paying their respects to the actor after hearing the sad news that he had passed.
