Claire Sweeney, the star of Coronation Street, has shed a significant four stone. She has also switched to a new diet. The 53-year-old actress admits that as she gets older, her outlook has changed. She used to make annual resolutions to work out or start a diet.

Claire and Colin Grafton teamed up for Dancing on Ice in January 2024 after losing a significant amount of weight during her intense training.

She said, “I looked back and forth between when I used to host 60 Minute Makeover and I didn’t realize how good a nick my physique was in. That was my intention. On my phone, there were two pictures. One of how I wanted to look and the other of how I was fat.

Claire confessed in a conversation with Best magazine that she had always yearned for weight loss and would frequently start a new diet. The star, however, adopted a more mindful approach this year.

She shared, “It was while Joan Plowright and I were watching a documentary where she wished she had discovered mindfulness years ago.” I really enjoyed it.

Every morning at 6 o’clock in the morning, I would wake up at 6 o’clock in the morning, walk along the beach, and listen to The Mel Robbins Podcast. I’m finding a lot of things out of it.

Claire made the revelation that she had a lot of knowledge about meditation and that she would decide to concentrate on it in 2025. She then made the decision to “stay in the moment.”

Although exercising may not be one of Claire’s top priorities for the year, she does try to maintain a consistent exercise regimen and tries to do “a little bit of everything” at the gym. She doesn’t want to get a certain size, but her goal is to keep her health and strength as she gets older.

Prior to the coronavirus lockdowns, Claire had previously stated that she had gained weight like many others. She expressed a desire to “feel fitter” on social media, saying that while she loves being curvy, she still wants to feel stronger and “lovely, but a little bit of timber.”

The actress, who gained notoriety with her role in Brookside, has since appeared on numerous programs, including Holby City, Celebrity Big Brother, and Strictly Come Dancing. She portrayed Cassandra Plummer in Coronation Street on television in 2023.
