Mock The Week star, Katherine Ryan, gave birth to her fourth child, Holland, two months ago and has already gone under the knife for some ‘serious’ cosmetic surgery
Katherine Ryan has revealed she’s undergone some “pretty serious surgery” just two months after giving birth to her fourth child.
The Mock The Week star, 42, who welcomed daughter, Holland Juliette, in October, is open about the cosmetic work she’s had done, having previously revealed she had a breast augmentation as well as well as various facial ‘tweakments’, including Botox and fillers.
Lifting the lid on her recent trip for some more nip/tuck, the comedian revealed she’d found an ‘incredible’ surgeon in York, who Katherine shared is “my ethnicity”. And while she didn’t go into detail about what exactly she’d had done – hinting she will make a ‘mini docuseries’ about it – the Canadian did say she was very impressed.

Talking on her latest podcast, Telling Everybody Everything, she shared: “This is controversial but he is my ethnicity”, noting that “a lot of Asian or Persian doctors who have this idea of this aesthetic”, which she didn’t want.
Katherine continued: “Take Dr. Simon Ourian, for example. He is the Beverley Hills injectables skin guy,” Katherine said. “He doesn’t do surgery, that I know of, but he’s the guy who appears sometimes in The Kardashians, and he does their injections.
“He’s really talented, but I went to see him probably ten years ago… And I felt like I walked out of there looking a little more Kim Kardashian.”
Saying she wants to enhance her own features, rather than trying to look like someone else, Katherine said: “We need to stick as closely as possible to what mother nature intended. I have really delicate features – I have a long face, I have a really narrow jawline,.
“I was not ever meant to have the Kylie Jenner heart-shaped jawline and these big Persian eyes. That was never going to work for me.” Praising her new doctor, who lives in York, she continued: “This guy in York is like of a British, Irish background, his beautiful wife is Irish, and I want to look like her. So I was like, I think this guy gets me… I think he gets what I’m going for.”
Katherine said she was impressed by the surgeon’s before and after photos as she stressed the importance of knowing someone who has already been a client.
The mum-of-four continued: “He did some procedures on one of my friends who is so beautiful and youngish to be getting surgery, and I just loved his before and after gallery.
“It really matters, I think, to know someone real and to be able to see how their face moves, talk to them. You knew what they looked like before, you know what they look like after. That, to me, historically, has always been the push to get surgery.”
Katherine was accompanied to the surgery, which took three and half hours, by her husband, Bobby Kootstra, and their baby Holland. Revealing why she took the two-month old with her, the stand-up star said: “I elected to take the baby with me because she just turned eight weeks that day. I’m still breastfeeding her, obviously, and I will be for a long time.
“You can’t breastfeed immediately after surgery, but I could obviously spend the night with her before and breastfeed her then, pump milk for the maternity nurse that I had, and then breastfeed her shortly thereafter and go home with her.”
Teasing her big reveal once she has healed, the Your Face Or Mine star concluded: “I was thinking to myself after I got the surgery – which, wait till you see it, is pretty serious surgery – I was like, Katherine Ryan, what is your damage?”
