Shane Nolan, her son, was the subject of a secret drug experiment that caused him to “hit rock bottom” and end his relationship with his beauty queen ex-wife, Maddie Wahdan.

Shane, her son, was the subject of a secret drug saga that revealed the death of her husband, Maddie Wahdan.

Coleen Nolan has revealed that her son, Shane, ‘f***ed up’ his marriage to Miss Great Britain star Maddie Wahdan amid a secret battle with drug addiction. The 36-year-old singer, who Coleen shares with ex-husband Shane Richie, split from the beauty queen in December 2023 amid reports he had been unfaithful – just a year after they had tied the knot.

Now, Shane has opened up about his battle with drug addiction at the time, which saw him be admitted to rehab as his family feared for his life. Speaking about the ordeal for the first in a new video for her YouTube channel, Loose Women star Coleen, 60, said told her son, ” It might be a great high for however long but you were broke, you got into a lot of debt, as everyone does with addiction. Relationships, you f***ed your marriage basically.”

At the time of Shane’s split from Maddie, it was reported that Coleen was been upset’ and ‘disappointed’ over the split, with sources claiming it was like ‘history repeating itself’ after his father cheated on Coleen back in the 90s. Now, he is in a new relationship with girlfriend Kimberly Sallis, and revealed earlier this month they are expecting their first child together.

Before splitting up with Maddie (pictured), Shane remained with her for seven years before separating in 2023 due to a rumored unfaithfulness.

In the video, Shane said, “I think I’ve had to grow up,” praising Kimberly for helping him overcome his drug addiction. We’re starting a family right away, and my girlfriend has a lot of support for me.

Admitting that his hectic work schedule led to the addiction starting, the singer explained, “The constant moving, the travelling all of the time, having to be on stage until 11 o’clock at night, so the only way to pick yourself up is to [do drugs].

“I’d have a three-day bender but I wasn’t using drugs on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.” That is probably what it should have been. I was splitting up, I was having a difficult time working, and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, he said.

For Coleen, she was concerned that her son might not make it because she remembered that he had reached a “broken point” before he was admitted to a rehab facility.

When did you suddenly go out and left your head open early in the morning? He had eight staples, or whatever, in his head after breaking his head open. If this doesn’t bring him to a wakeup call, he will… She told Shane in the video, “He’s going to die,” and I kept saying that.

Coleen continued, “From the perspective of a mother, I just felt like I’d done something wrong. I really got the blame for everything. I couldn’t stop people from saying, “You have to talk to him, you have to do this.” I thought, “I’m really failing on all levels, though.”

So I assumed the next call would be “He’s overdosed” when you split your head open. I just remember thinking, “I’ve just failed him and I can’t take this pain away from him,” and that if I could have taken it for myself, I would have.

With Shane in a sobering state and the prospect of welcoming a new child, Coleen asserts that the family can now finally unwind: “We’ve all just relaxed. You’re just nicer to be around, which makes sense to me now. I kind of feared you coming around, but I didn’t think much of it. It was awful, I don’t know.
