COAS Celebrates Sallah With Troops In Sokoto, Charges Them To Go After Bandits

Lieutenant-General Olufemi Oluyede, the commander of the Army’s Operation FASAN YAMMA, has directed the troops there to pursue bandits and other terrorists who threaten the region’s peace.

Major General Adeleke Ayannuga, the commander of Nigeria Army Cyber Warfare, represented the Army Chief at a special Sallah lunch with soldiers on Friday of the operation in Sokoto.

He claimed that the military has been successful in demonizing terrorists and will continue to advance the pace as troops are driven to defeat all forms of crime.

He emphasized the need for officers and other ranks to coexist among the various sister agencies as well as among themselves.

The occasion also provided a venue for the Army Chief to provide the troops with food and beverages and to unite them to sing Morales songs and other songs together.

The Army Chief also made a visit to the Giginya Army Barracks’ military hospital to motivate and reassure them of the Federal Government’s efforts to ensure that all of their wounds are recovered and rehabilitated.

The dignitaries who honored the occasion included Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, who was present.

The fighting troops who used the avenue to celebrate Sallah because they can’t leave the frontline to celebrate with their loved ones were also applauded.
