Beloved presenter Clare Balding revealed the specific foods she’s stopped eating as she shared her secret to losing weight. The 54-year-old BBC Sports presenter said that although she’s cut a few foods and drinks from her life, she doesn’t feel like she’s “depriving” herself of anything.

The broadcaster no longer eats pasta or bread after trying a low-carb diet, and tries to avoid sugar when she can. She also completely changed her approach to drinking alcohol and will replace a red wine with a gin and tonic. In a recent interview, Clare said: “I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself of things.”

The TV star no longer worries about what she wears because of her hard work, which has given her the “confidence” to do so.

Clare revealed the reasons behind her weight loss.

I have enormous bones, Clare continued in a conversation with Hello! However, I have a belt on, a pair of pants on, and a shirt tucked in, and I have spent years without being able to do that. That evokes a wonderful feeling.

Clare’s weight loss secrets come after she opened up about her major “house clear-out” with wife Alice Arnold in the coming months as they prepare to swap their London life for the countryside.

The couple currently reside in Chiswick. Their Tibetan terrier Archie was once walked around Chiswick House and along the Thames towpath.

She discussed her and her wife’s plans before moving to her new home.

However the couple faced a heart-wrenching moment in 2020 when they had to have their beloved pet put down. The TV star says he left a “dog-shaped hole in their hearts” ever since.

Moving to the countryside would make it easier for Clare and Alice to welcome a new furry friend into the family. However, Clare said she is a “hoarder” and will have to tackle a lot of packing and reorganising before the move.

Clare said, “I’m not very tidy,” when talking to Woman and Home about her worst habits. And I occasionally hoard things. We are going to do a significant house cleanout ahead of a move, which will really upset me because I don’t like getting rid of things.

Clare is optimistic that moving away from London’s hustle and bustle will create a “good environment” for a new dog.

She stated to The Times that she wanted to leave London because one of the main factors was that there would be a little more room and road protection for dogs.

It’s our plan, which will likely be implemented in the spring once we’ve settled in. I’m happy to see a dog back in our lives.
