Christine McGuinness has reportedly struck up a close friendship with Made In Chelsea hunk Spencer Matthews, who she met while filming a show last year after her split from Paddy
Christine McGuinness is said to have struck up a ‘close friendship’ with Spencer Matthews – after the pair met while filming a BBC show.
TV star Christine, 37, announced her split from husband Paddy McGuinness in 2022 in a joint statement shared by the couple to share news they were ending their marriage after 11 years. Christine, who shares three children with ex Paddy, continue to live in the same house as her ex – however Christine is recently said to be ‘living in a nightmare’ with their arrangement, despite Paddy putting the house up for sale.

Christine has been open about her struggles following her separation from the Take Me Out star, 51. But, it’s since been revealed she has struck up an unlikely friendship with Made In Chelsea hunk Spencer Matthews.
Single mum-of-three Christine is said to have met Spenny, 36 – who’s marriage to Vogue Williams has recently come under speculation – during filming for BBC show, Pilgrimage: The Road Through North Wales. The show, which first aired in February last year, saw Christine, Spencer join five other celebrities take on a pilgrimage in north Wales – a journey linked by churches dedicated to early Celtic Christian saints.
Throughout filming the pair are said to have struck up an unlikely friendship, reportedly bonding ‘ quickly ‘ at the hotel where the journey began for the BBC show’s cast. Spencer, who shares three children with wife Vogue, is said to have become Christine’s ‘ shoulder to cry on ‘ while his tales of his own recovery from dark days – he struggled with steroid addiction and a dark relationship with alcohol which saw him quit booze – are said to have been a beacon of light for Christine.
“You would never have put those two together”, a source has claimed to the Daily Mail. “But they got along instantly”.
“Poor Christine had been through the mill. She had been with Paddy since she was so young. He was really all she knew in a man, so then to strike up this friendship with Spencer was just lovely”, they added. Meanwhile, the insider added that it was “noticed by everyone on set” how well the pair got on.
The source added that it “must have been refreshing” for Christine to “have someone making her laugh” while the pair are said to have “really got into the spiritual side of life”.
News of the pair’s unlikely friendship comes after Vogue recently denied rumours she and Spencer had split in a defiant statement. The pair have been subjected to rumours about the state of their marriage for weeks but, now, Vogue has hit back.
Sharing a string of pictures of the pair together, Vogue insisted there was no chance of the pair splitting – as she admitted she was most worried about her kids hearing the rumours at school. She began: “It’s with great sadness that I have to let you know that Spen and I are NOT breaking up!
” I usually avoid addressing baseless and cruel rumours but this just keeps coming up. It’s disappointing to see this narrative being pushed almost daily when it’s absolutely not true and much more importantly I don’t want my children hearing these lies in the playground, “she wrote.
” We’re not sure what the angle is or where it’s coming from but the whole thing feels very strange and mean. We’re very happily married and in love and I hope posting the truth on my own platform might make it stop. “
Meanwhile, Christine and her ex-husband Paddy have put their mansion up for sale after Christine is said to have had enough of her current living arrangement. However, Paddy put their home up for sale for an eye-watering £6.5 million.
While Paddy went ahead with listing the property, insiders claim that Christine thinks he purposefully put it up at such a high price so that it wouldn’t sell, after they bought it for far less – £2.1 million – just a few years ago in 2020.
